Closed Captioning & Subtitling

Accurate, well-timed closed captions and subtitles — readable, faithful to the soundtrack, and conformed to every platform's spec.

The challenge

Captions look simple, but reading speed, line breaks, speaker labels and sound cues are easy to get wrong — and platforms each have their own strict technical specification. Poor captions are unreadable; non-conforming files get rejected.

We caption to professional standards: comfortable reading speeds, clean line breaks, clear speaker identification and meaningful sound descriptions — [door slams], [tense music] — so the full soundtrack is available to Deaf and hard-of-hearing audiences.

Every file is conformed to your target platform's specification and quality-checked against picture, so it passes delivery first time. We also handle multi-language subtitling when you need to travel beyond one market.

Frequently asked

What's the difference between closed captions and subtitles?

Subtitles assume you can hear and usually translate dialogue only. Closed captions (sometimes called SDH) are designed for Deaf and hard-of-hearing viewers and also include speaker labels and descriptions of meaningful sounds, so the full soundtrack is represented. We produce both.

Which caption file formats do you deliver?

We deliver in the format your platform requires — including SRT, WebVTT, TTML/IMSC and broadcast formats — conformed to the exact technical specification and quality-checked against picture.

Can you caption in multiple languages?

Yes. We provide multi-language subtitle and caption tracks so your title can travel to new markets with consistent, high-quality timing and formatting.
